Whittle away

Imagine a piece of wood in front of you. There seems nothing exciting about it at all. Just a plain old block. Then comes this urge to pick up a tool and to shave off a few pieces here and there. In your mind there is this picture of what you'd like this wood to be and as you carry on a new form takes hold.
You carry on whittling away until at last you behold a wonderful new creation and take great pleasure at what you have wrought.
It is the same with our lives. We can see our existence just like that plain old lump of wood and as we strive in our endeavours something wonderful begins to gain substance.
Let us all find that creative spark each and every day and whittle our own life and story.
After all, we are the creator, just like our little friend in the picture in this post.
