Wonder of the grove

There is something magical when out in nature on a misty morning in a woodland realm. Everything has this mysterious ethereal feel and our minds have the capacity to play tricks on us. A branch in the distance may appear to be a creature or another person. You hear sounds in the distance and as you cannot see what the source is it may even unnerve you.
Yet with each step you take in this wispy wonderland you feel this connection. You sense the heartbeat of the forest and maybe even your own. Your breath inhales this dew laden air and as this settles into your lungs before exhaling there is the real possibility of finding some peace.
Upon these mornings it is worth just stopping for a while and being still. Pay attention to the trees, the sounds, the life teeming all around you. Maybe you’ll hear the woodpecker tapping a bark, a deer bursting through the undergrowth and listen to the melody of sparrows, blue tits, blackbirds and chaffinches all competing for you attention. In short, you will sense so much more than usual.
